Words that sound the same but are spelled differently

A recent survey showed that many people have problems with words that sound the same – but are spelled differently and have different meanings!
Here are some examples:
Cereal/Serial
Cereal – a food that is made from grain and eaten with milk.
Serial – something that appears in successive parts or numbers.
Whine/Wine
Whine – to moan or complain about something.
Wine – an alcoholic drink made from grapes.
Flour/Flower
Flour – finely ground meal made from grain.
Flower – plant blossom.
See/Sea
See – perceive with the eyes.
Sea – large body of salt water. (whitesmoke)
